As I and my family get older I find my self wanting to keep growing and improving. But then I am also confronted with "why", "what difference does it make", and "what does that mean". This song is an exploration of my existential crisis and what I really want from life.

I am chasing a classic dub feeling, but with a digital twist of modern production. My reference artists are Lee "Scratch" Perry, Scientist, Boogie T, and Sippy.

I find that classic dub is very sparse and really breathes, but I think it is harder to get and keep the listeners attention without a more dense arrangement. I strive to find the right balance.

"Food, Sex, Power, I want to get that goodie. Fool" This is the underlying point I am trying to make in this song. These are the base things that drive us, but I feel there is more to life than just Food, Sex, and Power.

I want my listeners to feel transported, like they just took a trip and like a good vacation they can't wait to take it again. I hope my music brings joy and happiness to people. I am already hard at work on my next release, and continuing to search for my audience who need my music.

Translating the ideas I have in my head clearly to my listeners. Also being visually impaired (not blind but not allowed to drive) presents many challenges I have had to overcome.

That all musicians want to be stars and if they aren't a household name then they are a failed artist. People don't know or see that there is a whole world in between, and many of us make music because we love it and feel compelled.

For me it is to just get started on something. If I find myself stuck I will usually say hey I don't need to write something right now I can have fun designing a cool bass or kick. And inevitably once the pressure to write is gone I find ideas start coming and I am naturally moving into writing mode.

I think becoming comfortable with who you are is key. It takes the pressure to be what you aren't away. If you aren't comfortable with yourself, create a persona you can be comfortable with. Say and do what you want through that persona.

I think my song Redwoods Dub would be a good one to listen to next. It is on the other side of the spectrum of music I make. If you enjoy the two ends then you will probably enjoy of the rest of my releases.
