Masquerade is a song about betrayal, but it's not the typical song about being betrayed by a lover. It's about being betrayed by the entire universe.
I initially thought of using Metallica or Sabbath as a reference, but I found that I wanted a more modern sound, so I went with Ghost.
The hardest part was getting the guitars to sound right. I re-recorded them several times and must have changed the amp sims at least a dozen times.
I really like that I held off on doubling the vocal until the bridge. I feel it makes the bridge stand out and be more exciting.
I hope people feel some amount of joy after hearing Masquerade. I've already got our next release planned. Production is complete and we're working on the mix.
Getting my guitars to sound professional.
I think the biggest misconception is the idea that producing music isn't work.
Lately, I've been re-writing vocal melodies in order to move forward on songs.
I don't have much advice, since this is my first-ever release, but I'm making sure to take advice from others that have been doing this longer.
Again, this is our first release and I just hope people like it enough to listen to our next one when it comes out.
